Python continues to play an important role in modern software development, including data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence. With the new SmarxPython update, MARX® expands support for developers using the latest Python environments and introduces a new sample for protecting valuable AI models.
The updated SmarxPython package now provides support for Python 3.14 on Windows 11, enabling developers to integrate the CRYPTO-BOX® into applications developed with the latest Python version.
SmarxPython provides libraries and sample code for implementing software protection and license management with the CRYPTO-BOX in Python applications. It allows developers to implement strong hardware-based security directly into their applications.
A key highlight of this update is the new PyTorch protection sample.
Artificial intelligence models often represent a significant investment. Training data, development time and computing resources are used to create valuable machine learning models. Once a model is distributed, protecting it against unauthorized copying and use becomes an increasingly important challenge.
The new PyTorch sample demonstrates a practical approach to combine AI innovation with hardware-based software protection. The PyTorch AI model is encrypted, and the required cryptographic key is protected by the CRYPTO-BOX® hardware security device. The protected AI model can only execute if the matching CRYPTO-BOX is available.
This provides an additional layer of protection for valuable AI assets and helps software vendors protect their machine learning and AI models against unauthorized copying and use.
