CRYPTO-BOX: AutoCrypt Alternatives

The automatic implementation with AutoCrypt is the fastest and most convenient way to protecting and licensing your applications with the CRYPTO-BOX.

But in some scenarios AutoCrypt is not suitable, for example:

• If you have a multi-platform approach and need protection not only for Windows x86, but also for other platforms, like OS X or Windows RT.
• Your application is WPF based (Windows Presentation Foundation), which is not supported by AutoCrypt.
• Or your application is supposed to work with limited functionality if the CRYPTO-BOX is not available or connected, but  AutoCrypt won't start at all without a connected CRYPTO-BOX.

In such cases, the  implementation with API is the best alternative. Our Protection Kit contains libraries and sample code demonstrating all important API functions. For .NET (especially WPF based applications) or  Windows Store applications we recommend using our Smarx4NET libraries in combination with an efficient obfuscator, such as the Babel Obfuscator. CBIOS4NET can be also considered for .NET environment in case if local access to the CRYPTO-BOX is required.
